About the Workshops

Engage your body and get to grips with those voices in your head!
Then put it all together onboard your horse for a fun and rewarding experience!
Module Overview
Module One Know your Body (Pilates)
At Jigsaw Equine we believe that Pilates is the best possible route to overall fitness. Developed in Germany in the 1800’s - Pilates is a specialised technique of muscle control and movement that increases circulation, cardiovascular strength and rids the body of toxins. It helps to tone muscles, improve posture and flexibility, and unite body and mind.
During a Jigsaw Equine workshop you will work through the fundamental exercises for conditioning the parts of your body most needed for improving your riding. You will not leave tired and sore. You will acquire an understanding of the principles of; Control, Centre, Precision and Breath.
Module Two Know your Mind (sports psychology)
Mind and body must come together when success is our desired outcome. In this part of the workshop we will focus on the mental aspect of sporting preparation and performance. Based on the principles of sports psychology which can be applied to competitive riding or to simply wanting to get more enjoyment out of the time you spend with your horse - you will be encouraged to use your imagination and intuition so that mind and body work together.
Module Three Mind, Body and Horse
In the afternoon, you will have an opportunity to put the learning from the morning’s two modules into practice with your horse. This may be in a mounted session or through ground work with your horse. The afternoon is tailored as much as possible to the individual needs of each attendee - which will be discussed with you when you book to attend the workshop.
Post Workshop
We recognise that there is a lot to take in during the day, so we are happy to offer you a range of follow up options for post workshop coaching.
